If you sign contracts, applications, financial documents, or trust instruments, this class is for you.
Most of us were never taught to stop and ask the questions that matter. In what capacity am I signing: individually, as a trustee, or as an authorized representative? What exactly am I consenting to? And what does this document say happens after my signature goes on that line? What you can't see is what hurts you.
In this live class we go back to traditional equity jurisprudence and trust law: Story, Pomeroy, Gibson, and other historical authorities. You will learn how to slow a transaction down and examine capacity and authority, consent and mistake, fiduciary relationships, substance over form, and the legal significance of different kinds of signatures and endorsements.
